We pride ourselves in creating truly natural and organic products that use only the highest quality ingredients possible. Our products do not contain any chemical fillers, parabens, sulfates, GMOs, or fragrance. We use only organic and wild harvested essential oils that are sourced from all around the world. Every single ingredient in each of our products serves a specific purpose. We are a small privately owned company whose primary concern is quality over quantity.

Simply stated, organic means ingredients are grown without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, genetically modified organisms, or ionizing radiation, many of which are believed to have harmful health effects such as cancer.

Nowadays, we see more and more dermatologists recommending natural and organic products. This is largely due to the fact that on average, 87% of what you put on your skin is absorbed into the bloodstream. With this in mind and the unknown effects of long term exposure to additives and chemicals, why take the chance?

The aim of this system is to prevent illness, heal the sick, and preserve life.

Ayurveda can be defined as a system, which uses the inherent principles of nature, to help maintain health in a person by keeping the individual’s body, mind and spirit in perfect equilibrium with nature.

This answer can get very complicated due to the many layers we might have to go through to explain the complete life cycle of any given plant. We will keep it simple here. Organic plants can and usually do cost more to grow because of the cost of the seeds, the care and handling along with the time and effort that the farmer puts into these crops to cultivate and harvest them. Organic farmers cannot use cheap genetically modified seeds or chemical laded pesticides and herbicides to rid predators. They have to do things the old fashioned way by rotating crops and using fertile nutrient rich soil to grow the superior organic product.

We take a completely different approach to conventional personal care products.  Green Envee Organics is a gentle, truly functional, plant based product line that is handmade in the USA.  We employ sustainable practices and minimize the impact on the environment.  Everything we use in our products has a specific function, without any cheap fillers.  Although products look similar on the outside, they are much different on the inside.  In a nutshell, mainstream products are mass produced as cheap as possible, so that the consumer mentally feels good about how much they spend rather than how functional the products actually are.  Our products are not mass produced, are 100% naturally made, and are truly good and healthy for our bodies.

Due to the unknown effects of long term exposure to additives and chemicals over a long period of time, using natural and organic products is not just another craze. In fact, people are becoming more concerned with what they put in their bodies, and they have realized that it is just as important to watch what they put on their bodies. By using natural and organic products, you are making a long-term commitment to your health.

Our products are all tested against allergies and F.D.A. approved. Usually the reason we ask this question is because our skin might get aggravated by the synthetic chemicals (Fragrance, Parfum, Petroleum) found in mass produced cosmetics, cremes, and soaps. Since our products do not contain any synthetic chemicals people have been surprised at how well they work on there sensitive skin. The frequently misunderstood word ‘hypoallergenic’ means ‘least likely to cause a reaction’. It does not mean that it will never cause reactions on anyone ever. In fact, no product can say that.

This is one of the most common misrepresentations among natural products. Essential oils are pure plant extracts used for scenting or aromatherapy. Fragrance oils are synthetically made substitutes for essential oils. Many products, even those labeled “natural” contain fragrance oils. Often, a natural product label will say “contains essential oils.” This can be deceiving and it is always important to check if it also contains fragrance oils. Fragrance oils are problematic because, as synthetic compounds, they dry out your skin and irritate sensitive skin. If the ingredients includes the word “fragrance,” “perfume,” or “parfum,” then it’s synthetic and not-natural, even though its packaging may say it is.

Yes! It is very important to us that all of our packaging can be recycled. Most of our packaging is even made from recycled products.

However it is not mandatory by the FDA to have an expiration date on any of our products we still recommend using our products within 6 months to a year from purchase. It is strongly recommended to store products in a cool dry place. Lotions can even be refrigerated to increase shelf life.

We do not use parabens for preservatives. There are no synthetic ingredients and/or artificial preservatives in our products. We only use 100% natural preservatives in our products. For example, Essential Oils, Natural Tocopherol (Vitamin E), and Rosemary keep products from going rancid.

There really aren’t any comparisons.  Our ingredients are nutrient dense; they are actually good for you.  Our product contains no GMO’s (Genetically Modified Organisms).  We do not use any petrochemicals, which strip natural oils from the skin.  Mainstream skincare contains sulfates, parabens, detergents, and chemical and synthetic fragrances.  We only use high quality essential oils, no chemical or synthetic fragrances.    All of our ingredients are 100% plant based.  Mainstream body care contains countless ingredients known to cause allergies, asthma, and even cancer.  We are so open and proud of the fact that we use all plant based ingredients, we signed an industry wide compact disclosing all of our ingredients.  Every ingredient is rated on a 0-10 scale, 10 being the worst.  We don’t have a single ingredient rating over a 2.  Also, out of 1100 companies worldwide, we have achieved a Champion Award for safe products.

I would tell parents that organic is definitely a healthier and higher quality product. It’s important for parents to think about the future of their children in the world. We must teach our children to be socially responsible and understand the difference between natural and synthetic. A true respect of nature comes from true understanding. Who better to teach a child than their parents? As a parent, go to the store, pick up a personal care product (lotion, soap, etc.) and attempt to read the ingredients. How many of those words can you actually pronounce? Do you have any idea what those ingredients actually are or where they come from? When you read our label, there is no doubt about what you are putting on your body. 87% of what you put on your skin is absorbed into your body. What would you rather use on your children?

We maintain relationships with expert botanists, artisan farmers, and fair-trade wild-harvesters around the world to ensure each plant begins with non-GMO, genus specific, and heirloom variety seeds. We even test Mother Nature’s wild-grown plants to ensure that they are free from hybrids or contamination. Likewise, the soil is monitored to assure that it is free from toxic pesticides and fertilizers, and that it does contain essential mineral and pH content for optimal growing conditions.

As much as we would love to grow citrus trees in our backyard, the harsh Chicago winters wouldn’t produce the best quality fruit. Every plant and flower has specific temperatures, regions, elevations, and even soil pH in which they best thrive. We’re committed to sourcing plants that have grown in conditions best suited for their highest quality. Not at all! In fact, each plant has specific needs: harvesting sturdy bark is vastly different from stems, leaves, or delicate flowers, for example. Season, weather, and time of day play a role in harvesting. Even the moon’s cycle and gravitational pull affects proper harvesting time to enhance the plant’s natural properties.

Absolutely. Precise knowledge of time, pressure, and heat of steam distillation make extracting essential oils an art in itself. Rushing this process diminishes the purity of the essential oil; quality takes time and patience. With this extra care, 1 drop of essential oil equals approximately 75 cups of that particular botanic tea. Extracting essential oils through this long and slow process offers the highest quality resulting in the greatest therapeutic benefits. Citrus oils are cold pressed with the same commitment to quality while extracting the essential oil from the peel.

Not exactly. You may have an essential oil that is pure in terms of no added fillers or synthetic oils, but improper distillation or poor growing conditions may result in lower quality or contamination. Think of it as you would diamonds. You may have a true diamond, but the cut, clarity, color, and carat determine its quality. With essential oils, the quality is indicative of its soil, seed, harvest, distillation, and storage.

Before any batch of essential oils is accepted by Green Envee, we test for quality with Gas Chromatography (GS)/Mass Spectrometry (MS). In essence, organic chemists and scientists test each batch of essential oil for contaminants or impurities by separating the oil into individual molecular compounds. Then, the results are analyzed by measuring the molecular weight after the molecules have been ionized. The mass spectrometer (MS) measures the chemical constituents and compares them to a spectra database. Although this testing can be costly, it is an important process for quality assurance.

Storage of essential oils is an imperative part of maintaining quality. While essential oils should be kept out of direct sunlight, a dark bottle helps reduce all negative light effects. Regardless of the color of glass, all essential oils should be kept in glass bottles. The package label can also provide important information. Ideally, the essential oil’s botanical/Latin name should be listed. While there are many common names for plants, the botanical name ensures that you’re using the proper genus species for aromatherapy benefits. Some labeling may indicate the location of plant growth showing that it was grown in its native soil.

Currently there are NO FDA regulations, or grading systems, pertaining to essential oils. Although quality GC/MS testing is generally done by third-party scientists, any grade is an internal designation. While there is no universal standard for therapeutic grading, highest quality essential oils will provide greater therapeutic response.
